EXP9000 Cryptographic Module Completes PCI HSM Certification
BULVERDE, Texas — May 7, 2012 –
Futurex, a trusted manufacturer of hardware-based data security solutions, today announced that the EXP9000 cryptographic
module has successfully completed PCI HSM certification by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council. This certification
represents an important expansion in the scope of regulatory standards adhered to by Futurex solutions.
PCI HSM certification is a subset of the PCI PIN Transaction Security requirements, which are a set of guidelines for securely handling and processing card-based transactions. PCI HSM certification ensures that hardware security modules (HSM) adhere to strict standards concerning physical and logical security, and that integrity is maintained during various stages of the manufacturing and initial key loading processes.
The EXP9000 cryptographic module is contained within the Excrypt™ SSP9000 HSM, which protects sensitive data at an industry-leading speed of up to 2,250 transactions per second. The Excrypt™ SSP9000 is compatible with all major host application providers and supports RSA, EMV issuing and acquiring, PIN printing, PAN decryption, and PKCS #11 functionality.
Additionally, the Excrypt™ SSP9000 supports remote configuration and master key loading using the Securus. The Securus is the industry’s only purpose-built, hardened tablet with full capabilities for remote infrastructure management. A Public Key Infrastructure-secured connection allows Futurex solutions to be managed remotely in a standards-compliant manner.
"Futurex provides the robust security needed to manage the world’s most sensitive data," said Chris Hamlett, Futurex Chief Technology Officer. "The PCI HSM validation of the EXP9000 cryptographic module is an example of our unyielding dedication to the standards-based security of our enterprise-class solutions. Moving forward, we will continue to demonstrate our innovative leadership in support of emerging regulatory standards and technology."
