The Futurex and VirtuCrypt 2019 Training Summit took place last week here in San Antonio, from April 23rd-25th. The summit brought together a record number of data solutions providers and clients from all corners of the globe for three days of learning and networking on the historic Riverwalk. Attendees stayed at the beautiful Hilton Palacio del Rio and engaged in a course consisting of industry-specific lectures, product demonstrations, and hands-on labs.
The goal of the event was to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to help them understand how to use Futurex products and VirtuCrypt services in an efficient and compliant manner. Attendees interacted and worked directly with Futurex cryptographic devices and VirtuCrypt’s cloud-based solutions to build a stronger understanding of cryptography and regulatory compliance best practices. They also participated in discussions on emerging industry trends and how we are enhancing our technology to meet them, and how to develop actionable skills and competencies within the data security field.
In addition to the labs, lectures, and hands-on demonstrations, the Summit also featured keynote presentations from Mark Cooper (AKA “The PKI Guy”), President and Founder of PKI Solutions, and Scott Spiker, trusted payment security consultant and developer of the industry’s first fully compliment PCI Unattended Payment Terminal to be listed as an approved PCI OEM PED without a cardholder display. Mark Cooper gave his presentation on Managing the Root of Trust at Scale on the 24th. Scott Spiker gave his presentation, PCI PIN v3 Impact Analysis and What’s to Come, on the 25th.
Outside of our educational courses, there is no better time to be in San Antonio than during Fiesta! Attendees mingled while exploring the storied past of the city and taking part in its biggest, most colorful tradition. Each participant at the summit started their Fiesta memorabilia collection with a commemorative Futurex medal so they could keep a piece of Fiesta with them even after they left.
