BULVERDE, Texas, October 14, 2020
Futurex, a leader in hardened, enterprise-class data security solutions, today announced that its Quantum-Safe Hybrid Certificate Authority Solution has been named the winner of the “Overall Encryption Solution of the Year” award for 2020 by CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards. This award honors excellence in global information security and cybersecurity technology companies, products, and people. Futurex has been recognized three years in a row for its enterprise-class encryption solutions: Futurex’s VirtuCrypt was the winner of the “Enterprise Encryption Solution of the Year” in 2019, and Futurex won “Overall Encryption Solutions Provider of the Year” in 2018.
“We are honored to be recognized by CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards three years in a row. We work with financial services, enterprises, and government entities to deliver the rigor and security they require for the most sensitive transactions,” said Adam Cason, vice president, Global, and Strategic Alliances at Futurex. “Organizations count on us for robust encryption solutions, whether they are looking to secure their everyday data, payment processing, or future-proof their cryptographic infrastructure to prepare for the threat of quantum computers.”
Futurex delivers quantum-safe cryptography with a real-world solution available today, it’s Key Management Enterprise Server (KMES) Series 3. The KMES 3 offers a post-quantum hybrid certificate authority offering that integrates certificate lifecycle management within a FIPS 140-2 Level 3-validated hardware security module (HSM). Futurex’s KMES 3 also embeds both conventional and quantum-safe algorithms within a single container so that quantum-safe algorithms can be turned on as needed. Until then, organizations can use conventional algorithms and continue operating without impact to their existing ecosystem.
“Cybersecurity experts estimate that the large-scale quantum computers that are expected within the next five to seven years will be capable of breaking most current public-key encryption algorithms,” said James Johnson, managing director, CyberSecurity Breakthrough. “This is particularly serious for long-lifespan Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as satellites, automobiles, and critical infrastructure components that rely on cryptography for code signing. Futurex is at the forefront in addressing this challenge, developing a quantum-safe hybrid certificate authority solution to help these industries more efficiently prepare for the onset of quantum computing. We extend a hearty congratulation to the Futurex team for its innovative approach and powerful technology in addressing this critical issue.”
